As a city of arts and architecture, Paris is host to millions of tourists every year. Its cultural appeal is undeniable, but competition between cities is becoming increasingly intense. The capital is home to an abundance of culture but, beyond Inner Paris, the territories are less well served by public transport and major cultural sites are fewer and further between.
One of the aims of the Grand Paris is make culture accessible to all residents in the Grand Paris Region. The development strategy for culture will be multifaceted and will have two key streams: better access to the main iconic cultural facilities and the revival of more isolated cultural sites. The Seine is set to become a real channel for cultural activity in Grand Paris as many cultural facilities are already located along its banks.
