Line 18

Line 18 will connect Orly airport to Versailles by 2030, serving along the way the Innovation and Research clusters of the Saclay Plateau, as well as large residential areas and labour pools in the Yvelines and Essonne “départements”.

Line 18 will offer interconnection points with RER lines B and C, and with the extended Line 14 at Orly airport.

Currently being studied, the section of Line 18 between Palaiseau and Satory might be above ground, while the rest of the line is planned to be underground.

Construction and commissioning of Line 18 will take place by phase, staged over the entire duration of the Grand Paris Express project and possibly beyond.

It is worthwhile noting that a northern extension of Line 18, from Versailles to Nanterre-la-Folie and through Rueil-Malmaison, is being considered. Not yet funded, this potential additional section is planned after 2030, and might have a lighter format given the lesser passenger traffic that would be expected.

Line 18 commissioning milestones:
•    2024: Orly airport / CEA Saint-Aubin
•    2030: CEA Saint-Aubin / Versailles Chantiers
