Métro Line 11 currently connects Châtelet, at the heart of Paris, to Mairie des Lilas. Its extension eastwards up to Rosny-Bois-Perrier stemmed from a distant claim from local authorities, prior to the Grand Paris Express project. Funded by the Ile-de-France region, the French state, the Seine-Saint-Denis département and RATP, the new section will be operational by 2020.
The decision to extend Line 11 from Rosny-Bois-Perrier to Noisy-Champs was made while the Grand Paris Express super-métro was being agreed on, a timing that turned out to be in favour of the locally-supported line 11 initiative. The new section is scheduled to be in service by 2025.
Realizing and commissioning these two extensions will take place in two steps between 2022 and 2025.
• 2022: Mairie des Lilas / Rosny-Bois-Perrier (STIF/RATP project)
• 2025: Rosny-Bois-Perrier / Noisy-Champs
The construction of line 11 extension from Mairie des Lilas to Rosny-Bois-Perrier will be controlled by STIF and RATP, co-supervisors for this section. The next extension, from Mairie des Lilas to Saint-Denis Pleyel, will be built by Société du Grand Paris (SGP).
Phase 1 – By 2022
Line 11 – Mairie des Lilas / Rosny-Bois-Perrier
This extension will facilitate moves within the départements East of Paris and give better access by métro from the capital to nearby commercial infrastructure such as Rosny 2 shopping centre and Domus mall in Rosny-sous-Bois. The new section will also interconnect with RER E and Grand Paris Express future Line 15.
